12月2日（月）～6日（金）本校の学術交流協定校であるドイツ　オストファリア応用科学大学よりReinhard GERNDT 博士ほか教員3名が本校を訪問しました。
オストファリア応用科学大学とは3カ月以上のJASSO海外留学支援制度（協定派遣・協定受入）で累積50名以上の短期交換留学の実績があり，本校からは専攻科生を毎年3名程度派遣していましたが，コロナ禍で途切れていました。今年度は，コロナ禍後はじめて，オストファリア応用科学大学からの特別聴講学生1名を機械コースに半年間受入れていたところです。
１日目は， 文化見学として午前中に阿波十郎兵衛屋敷で人形浄瑠璃や日本庭園を見学後，午後からは，藍の館で藍染め体験を行った後，阿波おどり会館を訪問するなどして，徳島の伝統文化に触れ，相互理解を深めることができました。
2日目は，美波町の薬王寺や大浜海岸など風光明媚な自然を体感した後，午後からレーザー実験室見学などを行いました。その後，ドイツ語教員による「オストファリア応用科学大学についての説明会」があり，オストファリア応用科学大学に興味のある学生や教職員15名が参加しました。
その後，German Tea Ceremony が開催され，ドイツのニーダーザクセン州に位置する東フリースラント地方でユネスコ無形文化遺産として認定されている紅茶をスチューデントアンバサダーや学生及び教職員総勢18名が味わいながら，感想を述べあうなどし，ドイツ文化を感じることができました。
3日目は，午前中に創造技術ファクトリーを訪問し，実習設備の見学を行いました。午後から，ドイツ語履修者やドイツ語に興味のある学生，教職員を対象に訪問団教員によるドイツ語授業が行われました。英語と関連づけながら大変わかりやすく本場のドイツ語を学ぶことができ，参加者は大変満足していました。
続いて，専攻科進学予定者や短期留学を希望している学生向けの「オストファリア応用科学大学説明会」を実施し，学生及び教職員27名が参加し大変盛況でした。学期日程やドイツ語コース，チューター制度，タンデム制度，異文化プログラムなど充実した留学生へのサポートシステムや１年前の出願で奨学金獲得の可能性があること等について説明を受け，ドイツ留学を大変身近に感じることができました。その後，共同研究などについて教員と熱心な意見交換が行われました。
4日目は，機械コース教員との懇談会で，研究内容についての意見交換やReinhard GERNDT 博士によるロボットに関する講義を行いました。
その後，箕島校長と挨拶会があり，今後のさらなる交流について意見交換を行いました。午後からは，
電気Labo，創造技術ファクトリー，化学コースLaboなどのキャンパスツアーを行い，リサーチユニットでセミナーを行った後，場所を移してレセプションを実施しました。
5日目は，本校の企業研究セミナーを見学した後，上勝町のIOTを活用した持続可能な取り組みについて説明を受けました。
今回の訪問では，本場の教員によるドイツ語授業や大学の説明を受けることができ，訪問団からは交換留学生受入に対しての強い熱意が伝わってきました。ますます両校の国際交流が活発になり，国際的な協働による課題解決に取り組む人材育成が促進されることが期待されます。

Ostfalia University Delegation Visits Anan KOSEN

From December 2nd to 6th, a delegation from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany, our academic exchange partner, visited Anan KOSEN.

Our exchange program with Ostfalia University has a history of over 50 short-term student exchanges under the JASSO overseas study support program. Prior to the pandemic, we typically sent around three students from each major to Ostfalia University for exchange programs each year. However, due to the pandemic, these exchanges were temporarily suspended. This year, we welcomed our first exchange student from Ostfalia University in over two years. The student, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, joined Anan KOSEN for a six-month Short-term Exchange Program.

During their visit, the German delegation engaged in a variety of activities. On the first day, they enjoyed a cultural tour, visiting the Awa Jyurobei Yashiki puppet theater and a Japanese garden. They then experienced the art of indigo dyeing at the Ai no Yakata and concluded the day with a visit to the Awa Odori Hall, immersing themselves in Tokushima’s rich cultural heritage.

The second day included a scenic tour of Minami-cho, featuring the Yakuoji Temple and Ohama Beach. In the afternoon, the delegation toured a laser laboratory, followed by an informative session on Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences presented by a German teacher. This session, attended by 15 students and faculty members interested in studying at Ostfalia, provided valuable insights into the university.

The evening featured a unique cultural experience: a German Tea Ceremony. Eighteen participants, including student ambassadors, students, faculty, and staff, enjoyed tasting black tea, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of East Friesland, Germany, while engaging in cultural exchange.

On the third day, the delegation visited the Creative Technology Factory and toured its training facilities. Later in the day, they conducted German language classes for students and faculty members enrolled in German language courses. This interactive session provided valuable insights into authentic German pronunciation and communication. Following this, an information session on Ostfalia University was held for students planning to continue their studies in the major course or considering short-term study abroad programs. The session provided comprehensive information on semester schedules, German language courses, tutor systems, tandem programs, intercultural programs, and scholarship opportunities, making the prospect of studying in Germany more approachable for the participants. The session was well-attended by 27 students and faculty members and concluded with a lively exchange of ideas and questions with the visiting faculty.

On the fourth day, the delegation engaged in a productive discussion with the Mechanical Engineering faculty, exchanging ideas on research content. Dr. Reinhard GERNDT, a leading figure in the delegation, delivered a captivating lecture on robotics.

The day concluded with a warm welcome from Principal Minoshima, followed by a productive exchange of opinions on future collaboration opportunities.

The delegation also toured the campus, visiting the Electrical Lab, Creative Technology Factory, and Chemistry Course Lab. They then participated in a research seminar at one of our research units before concluding the day with a reception.

On the final day, the delegation visited Kamikatsu Town to learn about their innovative sustainable initiatives utilizing IoT technology.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity for both institutions to strengthen their ties and explore future collaborations. The delegation’s enthusiasm for accepting exchange students was evident throughout their stay, and we anticipate a significant increase in international exchange activities between our two institutions. This collaboration will undoubtedly foster the development of globally-minded individuals capable of tackling complex challenges through international cooperation.
