4月14日（日）に、阿南市国際交流協会（AIA）のお取り計らいでＪパワー橘湾石炭火力発電所見学会が実施され、本校の留学生11名及び教員2名が参加しました。参加者はまずＪパワー橘湾石炭火力発電所とＪパワー＆よんでんWaンダーランドが、広大な敷地を持ち、自然と調和して建設されていることに関心していました。あわせて、本発電所が単機出力105万kWと石炭火力発電所としては日本一の規模を誇り、発電した電気が四国だけでなく、関西・中国・九州地方にも送られていることに驚くとともに、揚炭設備等の共同利用を行い、設備利用の効率化を図っていることなど説明に聞き入っていました。
　当日は天候にも恵まれ、発電所屋上からは、美しい島々を眺めることができました。今回の見学旅行を通して、地元産業について学ぶとともに参加者同士が積極的に交流を深めることができ、有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。

The National Institute of Technology-Anan College’s International Students Explore J-Power Plant

On April 14^th,2024 thanks to the Anan City International Association (AIA), 11 international students (Thai, Miama, German and Uganda) and 2 faculty members from our school participated in a tour of the J-Power Tachibana Bay Coal-Thermal Power Plant.

Learning About Local Industry & Sustainability

The vast grounds and natural surroundings of the J-Power facility impressed the participants, highlighting the plant’s commitment to harmonious development. They were surprised to learn that this plant, boasting the largest single-unit output (1.05 million kW) in Japan, generates electricity not just for Shikoku, but also for Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu regions. The tour provided insightful explanations about shared equipment like coal lifting machinery, showcasing the plant’s focus on operational efficiency.

Meaningful Interaction & Breathtaking Views

Clear skies allowed the group to enjoy stunning island vistas from the rooftop observation deck.
